Day 1 in the Big Abbott House…
Now before I start, don’t be thinking from the Title that I am going to be on here every-night giving a synopsis, cos as any parent out there will tell you that ain’t gonna happen.
Anyhoo, today was our first day from waking up in their own beds/bedrooms, to now having gone to bed, and here’s how the night/day went.
They both had their bath the little one was not so keen to go to bed, but literally 5 minutes after walking out of his room, he was gone. The older she was fine, quite light in her room and for re-assurance she has the light on and the hall landing light is quite bright as well, so she took longer to nod off. Asleep they were, till about 2am ish when the wee lad (3) awoke and needed a quick cuddle since he was a little disorientated and then we didn’t hear a peep from them till 0730, we let them play for about 10 minutes before we got up and we all went downstairs for breakfast.
We did alright today all in all, trip to the park with Honey for a walk, home for Cheese on Toast for lunch and then some fun time in the Olympic Size paddling pool in the garden. The highlight of that time was when the wee man, was in the bathroom standing having a pee and before I knew it I was being summoned to the downstairs cloak as he had some very loose poo down his legs and onto the pedestal mat, lovely, only up side since he was mucking about in the pool and has no swimming cozzy he was buck starkers, so cleaning was easy, the mat mmm we’ll see.
Afternoon was spent with the girls painting Eggs and then they had some chill time before T with Ice Age. Chicken Korma went down well and the bedtime baths were mainly handled by the missus tonight, both of them, special requests, me on friendship bracelet duty and then tidy up the carnage, kitchen to you and me, fix the garden seat, re-attach the plug chain to the sink, watch Malcolm in the Middle, then some catch up on emails etc. I watch Malcolm in the Middle for 2 reasons, 1) I find it funny and 2) my family can’t be any worse than that so it makes me feel better about our wee house…
